Why Summer C.A.M.P.?
I have a few painful memories of summer camp…yes, horse flies do bite. On the other hand, I remember some awesome times learning about my limits and how to have fun.
“…there’s a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path…But I can only show you the door. You’re the one that has to walk through it.” ~Morpheus, The Matrix
You won’t find any bug juice or campfire songs at this summer camp. While I don’t take myself too serious, I am serious about teaching a practice of conscious awareness. I’m no guru and neither is anyone else on the planet. I’m not here to give you a magic blue or red pill. I’m here to open your eyes to help you see beyond the tip of your nose. I meet you where you are in your life. After that, I’ll help you see what your journey looks like when you get out of your own way…then I get out of the way.
You must become aware and conscious before you work with a business coach, life coach, personal trainer, etc. This is true for adults and our future leaders…our youth. If you aren’t aware and conscious, you will not connect with the people and resources you really need. You will not make choices in alignment with you core values, personal culture or your “why?”…the reason you do what you do. That’s why I created this summer program.
In a very short amount of time, we cut out all the noise and clutter. Then, we build on your core values and you move on. My role is not to work with you for a long time. I’m the bucket of cold water that somebody throws on you to wake you up.
Who attends Summer C.A.M.P.?
- Adults (ages 28-38) ready to dig into your life and have the time to devote to you.
- Youth (ages 11-16) that are stressed, facing bullying issues, involved in multiple activities, etc.
Why include youth? Over the past 2 years, I got tired of hearing kids talk about bullying issues and being stressed out. Instead of complaining that adults keep getting in the way of kids (especially in education), I decided to do something. My intention is that the kids that complete Summer C.A.M.P. will be able to build confidence in their uniqueness, address the challenges they face, slow down, make more thoughtful decisions, and live in the present without their lens of judgment. Why wait until they are adults to give them practices and tools to sort things out.
We spend 90 days deep diving into core values, gratitude, triads, culture, awareness, strategy. Each week, we build on the previous week. Meetings are bi-weekly.
Short on time but need to get the ball rolling in your life. This is a 2.5-hour condensed and intense version of the Full Session. Most of my clients have started with the Mini-Session.
For both the Full and Mini-Session, you will walk away with knowledge, behaviors and resources you can use that day. Real stuff not just warm and fuzzy thoughts. That said, you will always be a work in progress. Summer C.A.M.P. is a lifestyle and perception adjustment to get you on your path. My intention is to help you expand your mind to help create space for you to be…well…YOU.

What happens at Summer C.A.M.P.?
You’ll experience my passion for teaching when you work with me. I’d be honored to share this moment in time on your journey with you. Here are a few words from past clients.
During our face-to-face session(s) and on your own, you will work on:
- Communication and why it’s never about what you are trying to get out
- Core practices: consciousness, awareness, mindfulness, listening, perspective, gratitude, patience and empathy
- Developing a strategic roadmap for your journey which you can modify to fit your needs
- Warm and fuzzy stuff…that which is hard to measure including core values, culture and intuition.
- Behavior challenges to help you learn new habits
- Required readings specific to your situation based on the info you provide in the A+O Questionnaire
We will work on the level that is overlooked. If you are moving through your world with limited awareness, you will be pulled by all directions. It’s time to connect with you and stop spinning your wheels and getting in your own way.
Parent + Youth
Parents must attend these sessions with their children. This is for parents and their children, ages 11-16. In today’s world, teens are under more pressure and experiencing more stress than ever before. Between the increasing demands of academic life, extracurricular activities, peer relationships, family relationships, and the constant growing demands of technology, teens are often left feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, and irritable. We work on simple behaviors and strategies that help them where they are not from where they should be.
After completing your session(s), you will:
- Have completed at least one life milestone connected to your core values
- Be able to make better use of your resources
- Have expanded your vision and cleaned out a few of the cobwebs/peeled back a couple of layers
- Be able to connect strategy and execution to the warm and fuzzy parts of life
What is a mentor?
I believe a mentor’s responsibility is to listen without judgment and create space for you to find the words to describe what the heck is rolling around in your mind. Mentors help fill your knowledge gaps and seek opportunities to help you grow and excel. A mentor is someone with whom you can let down your guard, share your insecurities, and ask the ‘stupid’ questions we all have sometimes.
What is conscious awareness?
I believe that we are here to be consciously aware. Conscious awareness is staying awake to the idea that we always have the ability to choose. Your conscious mental attitude which are the thoughts you think each day have the power to change unwanted patterns to make success and happiness available to you in your life.

How will we work together?
Face-to-face, emails, phone calls and behavior challenges.
What do YOU need to do?
Be present. Be mindful. Be willing to work.
Why is there registration limits?
First, this is a personalized program. My goal is to work with a small number of clients at any given time. By working with less clients, I create more time for attention and reflection after each session. Second, we are working on a national program including publishing a book for youth and youth-serving professionals in 2014. This summer program will be the model which is why the pricing is low this year.
